Site Requirements

Videos are streamed from a server at Kent State University and are available in three different modes:

Windows Media Player: Recommended for PC users.

QuickTime: Recommended for Mac users. The free QuickTime reader is required for viewing. To download the newest version go to the Quicktime web site.

Flash Version: This version should work in most environments since it does not require software downloads.

NOTE: In some cases, when you click on the title of a learning module (for example, Welcome to Academic Libraries) you may experience a slight delay while the video loads onto your computer. It is actually buffering the beginning of the video so that after this initial delay, you will be able to watch the video without interruptions, and to easily switch between modules without having to reload a video you've already seen.

If you see a black screen on the module page, just click on the arrow key next to the sound button to start the video and audio.

Technical Difficulties: If you experience difficulties when viewing the videos, please use the Feedback form on the T2C site to explain your problem. Please be as specific as possible in your description (version used, type of computers, type of lab setting, details of problem).

DVD Option: If you are planning to show the videos in a class setting (rather than having students go through the videos individually) you may want to request a DVD. this will allow you to project the videos on a full screen.

To request a DVD, email Anita Clary, Administrative Assistant, Reference & Instructional Services Office, Libraries & Media Services, Kent State University. Allow 10 days for delivery after you submit your request.
