Compare College Libraries

College and university libraries come in all shapes and sizes. Some have one large library on campus; some have several libraries located throughout the campus. On a college or university campus, different libraries will often support just one or two main subject areas. For example, Miami University of Ohio has a main library, an architecture library, a science library, and a music library on one campus, and two additional branch campus libraries that support all subjects.

You will find that college and university libraries (known as academic libraries) all have many things in common – study areas, computers and printers, librarians who can help you with research questions, and, of course, books. Each library also has individual policies for things like overdue fines, loan periods, printing charges, and hours.

Below, you will find profiles of several Ohio college and university libraries. Each profile contains information about the library, such as important telephone numbers, locations, and policies. The guides provide you with an easy way to compare and contrast services and policies for academic libraries at both smaller colleges and larger universities.
